10 Powerful Personas (Purchase on CreateSpace) (Preview)

Personality is complex; it has many faces.  We act differently depending on context.  We act a certain way at work, with our friends, in front of an audience.  These different faces are called personas, and they represent a cohesive package of behaviors.

In the book, I discuss how personas develop, how they spread, and the role they play in society.  I then focus on 10 specific personas that are especially powerful that are exhibited by successful and magnetic people.

When I was a sophomore in college, I asked my friend Luis Fernandez, “What are the most important things in life?”  Luis wrote a series of essays over the next two years answering this question.
These essays are excellent.  I wrote an introduction and comments and published the essays on the blog.  Luis and I then polished these essays and published them in book form.  Check it out (and buy a couple copies of the book!).

I founded my first company before graduating from college.  I made a lot of mistakes, and things did not go nearly as well as I would’ve liked.  In hindsight, was it worth it? Is founding a company fresh out of college a good idea?  I answer these questions in this Xconomy article.
